In a statement delivered in Dhaka on Wednesday, Mohsin Naqvi, the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), indicated that fans can expect an announcement about the upcoming Asia Cup shortly, as discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are still underway to resolve specific issues.
“An announcement regarding the Asia Cup is on the horizon,” Naqvi informed reporters following the conclusion of the first day of the two-day ACC Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“We are currently in discussions with the BCCI.” We’re optimistic that a resolution is just around the corner. “After a thorough discussion, Aminul bhai and I have managed to resolve some issues, and we are committed to getting everything sorted out as quickly as possible.”
Naqvi, in his capacity as President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), conveyed his approval of the AGM proceedings and commended the warm hospitality provided by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The AGM meeting was a resounding success from the outset. In an impressive display of unity, all 25 members of the ACC were present for the meeting, showcasing a strong commitment to collaboration and engagement. In the second instance, I would like to express my gratitude to all the members present here today, as well as to those who participated in the meeting via Zoom.
“A heartfelt thank you goes out to Aminul bhai for his exceptional hospitality.” The hospitality we experienced was top-notch, making for an incredible two days. The event was truly unforgettable, and I extend my gratitude on behalf of the ACC for the exceptional organisation that went into it all.
In a unanimous decision, the team has committed to putting its efforts into the game of cricket. There’s a clear consensus among us: we all prefer to keep politics out of our organisations. The recent meeting was a resounding success, characterised by a positive and collaborative atmosphere. “I look forward to more encounters like this in the future,” he added.
Commenting on the presence of members, Naqvi stated: “It was him [gesturing towards Aminul] and all the members who are gathered here.” The victory was once more a testament to the power of teamwork. Success is always sweeter when it’s achieved through teamwork.
“A number of nations were unable to make their way to Dhaka.” It occurs without fail each time. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the recent ICC meeting in Singapore due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s just part of the game. The crowd has gathered in significant numbers. Many individuals are unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
“A significant highlight for both ACC and BCB is that all 25 members were present and engaged in today’s meeting.” The focus is primarily on the ACC and BCCI. There is a strong sense of optimism surrounding the resolution of the pending issue, and the anticipation for the Asia Cup remains high.
In a spirited address, BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the chance to host the event, highlighting the commendable collaborative spirit displayed by the council.
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board extends its gratitude to the Asian Cricket Council and its chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, for the privilege of hosting this remarkable event in Dhaka.” We are thrilled to announce that our meeting concluded with great success.
“The focus here is entirely on leadership.” The members of ACC displayed remarkable cooperation, united in their commitment to the great game of cricket.
