In response to widespread rumours about the demise of renowned actor Dharmendra, his daughter, Esha Deol, has confirmed that the reports are false. The 89-year-old celebrity, who was recently hospitalised at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to health complications, is alive and recuperating.
Esha Deol confirmed that her father’s status is stable and urged everyone to disregard the erroneous rumours circulating online. Family members, including Sunny and Bobby Deol, have been regularly visiting him at the hospital, although a formal medical statement has yet to be released.
Endearingly referred to as Bollywood’s original “He-Man,” Dharmendra revolutionised the concept of celebrity in Indian cinema through his charisma, adaptability, and authoritative screen presence. Throughout an illustrious career exceeding sixty years, he produced several of Hindi cinema’s most seminal films. He made his debut with “Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere” (1960) and swiftly ascended to popularity as one of the preeminent actors of his time. Dharmendra’s extraordinary range established him as a true icon of Indian film, spanning genres from the romantic dramas “Anupama” (1966) and “Bandini” (1963) to action blockbusters like as “Sholay” (1975), “Dharam Veer” (1977), and “Mera Gaon Mera Desh” (1971), as well as the enduring comedy “Chupke Chupke” (1971).
Over the years, Dharmendra has transcended the role of a mere superstar, embodying power, humility, and resilience. He continues to enthral audiences with his warmth and lasting charm. He was last observed in “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” (2024), opposite Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, following his notable appearance in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” (2023) with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Shabana Azmi. His forthcoming feature, “Ikkis,” starring Agastya Nanda, is scheduled for release this Christmas.
