Reports indicate that Hulk Hogan was actively engaged in filming a documentary project for Netflix at the time of his passing.
A wrestling icon passed away earlier this week at the age of 71.
A previously undisclosed project, developed in collaboration with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), aims to document the remarkable life and career of a wrestling icon, both in the ring and outside of it. Sources connected to the project confirm that it will still be released following Hogan’s unexpected death. Filming is currently in progress.
A source familiar with the untitled documentary revealed that the project has been under development since 2024. More than 20 hours of previously unreleased sit-down interviews with Hogan have been finalised, alongside an additional 30 hours of footage that have already been recorded.
The documentary was produced with Hogan’s complete involvement. A source revealed to the media, “People will witness a side of him that has remained unseen until now.”
As of now, no release date has been established, and the unforeseen passing of Hogan will necessitate adjustments to specific segments of the documentary by the filmmakers. Sources indicate that cameras will be present at WWE SmackDown this Friday evening to document a scheduled tribute to Hogan.

Officials have reported that he passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. During a recent news conference, officials from the police and fire departments in Clearwater, Florida, reported that there were no indications of suspicious activity or foul play related to the individual’s death. They confirmed that a standard investigation is currently underway.
Hogan is recognised for transforming wrestling into a significant entertainment phenomenon. His commanding presence during the 1980s and 1990s catapulted him to the status of a household name and global superstar. He established a model for fellow wrestlers, such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena, to transition their in-ring fame into successful careers in Hollywood, encompassing movies, television shows, and reality TV.
The upcoming Netflix documentary is directed by Bryan Storkel, with production led by Connor Schell’s studio, Words + Pictures, in partnership with WWE.
