The TV adaptation of child performer Jennette McCurdy's biography will star Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston is broadening her collaboration with Apple TV+, extending her involvement beyond the acclaimed series “The Morning Show.”.

On Tuesday, the streaming platform revealed that Aniston is set to headline a new series inspired by ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’, the candid memoir by Jennette McCurdy that has topped the New York Times bestseller list.

“‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’ offers a poignant and humorous exploration of Jennette McCurdy’s experiences as a former child actor grappling with the challenges posed by her overbearing mother,” reads a statement from Apple TV+. The upcoming dramedy will explore the complex dynamics of a codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress starring in a popular children’s show and her narcissistic mother, who takes pride in her role as ‘a starlet’s mother’. Jennifer Aniston is set to portray the mother in this intriguing narrative.

McCurdy rose to prominence in her role as Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon sitcom “iCarly”. Published on August 9, 2022, by Simon & Schuster, her memoir has achieved remarkable success, remaining on the New York Times bestseller list for over 80 weeks.

She is poised to take on the roles of writer, producer, and showrunner for the upcoming series, collaborating with Ari Katcher, while Aniston will take on the role of executive producer.

Jennifer Aniston takes on the role of Alex Levy in “The Morning Show”, where she also serves as a producer for the series. The upcoming fourth season of the series is set to premiere on September 17. It draws its inspiration from the nonfiction work “Top of the Morning” authored by Brian Stelter, chief media analyst.
