In a surprising move, Justin Bieber has unveiled his first new studio album in four years, much to the delight of his fans.
“SWAG”, the seventh studio album from the Canadian singer, comprises 21 tracks and includes collaborations with notable figures such as rap artist Gunna, gospel singer Dijon, rapper Lil B, comedian Druski, rapper Sexyy Red, musician Cash Cobain, and singer-songwriter Eddie Benjamin.
The concluding track of the album, titled “Forgiveness”, features a performance by pastor and gospel artist Marvin Winans, rather than Justin Bieber.
Dijon took to Instagram on Friday to commend @lilbieber, stating, “Congratulations for making a wild and deeply inspiring record.” He accompanied his praise with images that depict recording sessions for the album.
“I am thankful to have had the opportunity to observe and contribute, even in a small way, to something truly beautiful.” “I am humbled!” he remarked.
Bieber’s latest album reflects a tone of vulnerability, following his March social media post where he expressed feelings of “unworthy” and a June Instagram update revealing he felt “broken”.
In the 14th track, “Therapy Session”, Bieber shares with Druski, “I think that’s been a tough thing for me recently is feeling like, you know, I have had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human, as all of us do, really publicly.” People frequently enquire about my well-being, and that constant questioning begins to take a toll on me.
“It begins to give me the impression that I’m the one with problems while everyone else appears flawless,” remarked the 31-year-old, who became a parent for the first time with the birth of his son, Jack, in August of the previous year.
In a new collaboration with Druski titled “Standing on Business,” the artist addresses a viral video from June. In this clip, he passionately confronts paparazzi, accusing them of attempting to provoke him during his beach outing.
In the track, Druski aims Bieber’s impeccable pronunciation of the word “business” as he berates the paparazzi.
